Course Overview
Sustainability in all areas of business is integral to a company’s survival within the economic landscape. This course connects concepts of sustainability, entrepreneurialism, and innovation, and outlines the basic theoretical foundations for business development. Issues of corporate conduct, corporate leadership, legal codes, and performance guidelines will be addressed and examined in detail. You will understand how sustainability in business is used to manage risk and maintain productivity, via study of the supply chain management (SCM), operations management (OM), and marketing trends and strategies.
The aim of the module is to provide students with an understanding of the following subject areas:
National and international issues pertaining to carbon management
The development of carbon management systems and strategies
The skills needed to measure and value positive and negative carbon footprints
You will be formally assessed once during the programme, which will consist of a written report of up to 3,500 words. Completing this assignment to a satisfactory standard is a mandatory requirement.
